Questions and Answers

How will Health Care Worker Certification (VisaScreen) affect licensing eligibility in the U.S. for Canadian nurses?
The Certification requirement effectively ended the reliance on state endorsement (no exam) licenses by Canadian RNs and it forces most Canadian nurses to take NCLEX in order to work in the U.S. Certification was originally required of Green Card (permanent) applicants but the requirement was broadened to include nonimmigrant (temporary) nurses and some other healthcare professionals including Canadians on TN status under NAFTA.
