Procare
USA is a national healthcare staffing company specializing in placing American, Canadian and other foreign trained nurses on assignments throughout the United States. Nurses trained and educated outside of the United States or Canada interested in international travel nursing in the U.S. must obtain a work visa in order to work legally in the U.S.
There are two types of visas, temporary (usually offered in
increments of one to three years) and permanent (Green Card
or permanent resident). Presently, with the exception of Canadian
citizens, temporary visas are not available to most foreign
trained nurses so Procare USA
only sponsors international travel nursing applicants through
permanent status.
Although there is one temporary visa category, H-1C, that is
afforded to nurses, it is too restrictive for practical use,
including use for international travel nursing. In addition,
many people mistakenly believe that another temporary visa,
H-1B is generally available to RNs however less than 1% of nurses
would be eligible for this visa, so again it is not a viable
method for entry into the U.S.
Typically, we sponsor nurses interested in international travel
nursing in the United States for Green Cards through a process
known as consular processing. Until your sponsorship is complete
you must remain outside of the U.S. and are not eligible to
work here. In exchange for sponsorship, Procare
USA or one of its clients will require an employment
commitment of an international nurse of no less than 18 months.
Procare USA can also assist
those interested in international travel nursing in preparing
for the NCLEX exam through our association with Kaplan Inc.,
a premier provider of educational services. Successful completion
of the NCLEX examination is a requirement for obtaining a license
to work as a Registered Nurse in the United States. Call us
to find out how Procare USA
can save an international nurse on Kaplan's NCLEX preparation
courses.
Procare
USA's licensing, immigration and housing specialists coordinate all pre-employment requirements and advise international travel nursing applicants on all relocation details while preparing you and your family for your move to the U.S.
Procare
USA encourages you and your family to take advantage of our Green Card sponsorship option. If you wish to be considered for sponsorship, please forward your Curriculum Vitae for review to procare@procareusa.com or fax to 866.675.8488.
